The 'Five Rules' Club
This is an exclusive club for those canoe polo athletes, both men and women who have been privileged to have played during 'the golden age of canoe polo' when five different canoe polo rules were used: These rules were known as the 'English, German, Australian, Dutch and Italian' Rules. They were played in different styles from the late 1920's until the early 1990's after which one common set of rules were formulated by the International Canoe Federation Canoe Polo Committee. The first World Championships with these new rules was held in Sheffield, England in 1994.
